Curriculum Statement

Our maths curriculum aim is for all children to become confident and fluent in mathematical knowledge, concepts and skills. All pupils develop a deep understanding of the mathematics they are learning so that their future mathematical learning is built on solid foundations.

Grove Road children are reflective learners who think about what helped them to progress and what their next steps might be. Our young mathematicians use precise mathematical language and a wide range of manipulatives to represent their mathematical thinking and take ownership of the strategies they have been taught. Children enter the learning pit and work collaboratively to unpick their marvellous mistakes and learn from them.
